Roof renovation on Clogmaker Street

Last week a major renovation took place at our dismantling location at Klompenmakerstraat 20 in Ridderkerk. On Thursday and Friday, the entire roof of the shed was replaced. The old roof showed many leaks and defects, making smaller repairs of little use. On Wednesday, fall protection was installed throughout the shed. Early Thursday morning, work began on removing the old roof. By the end of the day, half of the roof had been replaced. On Friday, the second half was removed and the new roof panels were installed. Saturday the final touches were added by finishing the exterior of the building.

The renovation demanded a lot of effort from the staff. The shed had to be as empty as possible for the renovation, so there was a lot of driving and dismantling to do. In addition, the shed was not completely closed on the night of Thursday to Friday. To ward off unwanted visitors, some colleagues spent the night at work. They didn’t get much sleep that night, but the appreciation is all the greater for that! On Friday, of course, the event concluded with an elaborate appetizer to celebrate the renovation.
