Old paper worthless?

The price of waste paper/cardboard has been under considerable pressure for years.

More paper is collected in Europe than mills can process. Traditionally, large volumes were exported to China. But for a few years now, Chinese demand for waste paper has been falling. Partly because China no longer wants to process the “dirtier” types of paper/cardboard, but also because more and more paper is being collected in China itself.

Currently, the yield for waste paper (fur) is €20 per mt. delivered to an exporter. These low yields make it impossible for us to pay a fee for your waste paper.

For now, however, you can leave it with us free of charge, so it will still be separated at the source.
