For children and adolescents

Van Pelt Recycling's Knowledge Center is the place where children and young people can learn about the importance of metal recycling in an interactive and fun way. Our goal is not only to inform the young generation, but also to inspire them to play an active role in recycling materials. Therefore, we offer a range of educational activities, from guest lectures to workshop days and tours.  

With our activities we focus on schools and associations within the provinces of Zuid-Holland and Zeeland. For those outside these provinces we offer our services within a radius of about 75 kilometers from Ridderkerk. Are you interested in one of our programs and are you just outside this radius? We make metal recycling understandable and accessible!

Our educational programs

Guest Lectures:
All about reycling

    • Target audience: Primary and secondary school students.

    • Duration: Approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.

    • Content: An interactive lesson in which we discuss the ins and outs of recycling, adapted to the age of the students.

    • Location: At your school's location.

Workshop Day:
Disassembling and recycling electronics

    • Target audience: Primary and secondary school students.

    • Duration: Approximately 2 to 3 hours, by arrangement.

    • Content: Students get to work disassembling old electronics themselves to learn how materials are recycled.

    • Location: At your location or at our recycling center.

Site Visit:
Tours and presentations

    • Target audience: Primary and secondary school students.

    • Duration: Approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.

    • Content: A tour of our facilities combined with a presentation on the recycling process.

    • Location: At our recycling center.
