Socially responsible

Corporate social responsibility is very important to us at Van Pelt Recycling. That is why our Urban Mining department, where electronics such as computers and servers are disassembled, has a social character. Here people with a distance to the labor market are given the chance to get used to a rhythm of work. They work in a special, low-pressure environment.

Employees of Urban Mining

Incoming computers from companies are completely disassembled manually by Urban Mining employees. This way, all materials can go directly to end processors who can make new products from them. The disassembly process takes place above the drive-thru hall at Van Pelt Recycling. Urban Mining's employees are an important part of the Van Pelt Recycling team and add value to the recycling process.

Disassembling electronics

We deliberately opt for completely manual disassembly of electronics, because this allows materials (such as batteries and other hazardous components) to be separated at source and processed safely in the shredder. In this way, we ensure a sustainable and safe processing process.

Corporate Social Responsibility

With the Urban Mining department, Van Pelt recycling gives shape to corporate social responsibility. In doing so, we can demonstrate to our customers that their electronics are being recycled in a future-proof manner. Companies can use our input also use our input in their CSR strategy and in their Tenders/European tenders.
